Work Embed Settings
Use the Work page in Archivist’s /settings command to control which
details appear in Archive of Our Own (AO3) work embeds in your Discord server.
You need the Discord Manage Server permission to change these settings.
Open a work settings form
Section titled “Open a work settings form”On the Work page, choose Stats, Tags, Summary, Gallery, or Inactivity to open that section’s form. Update the options, then select Submit to save your changes or Cancel to close the form without submitting. Select Reset Work to defaults to restore the Work settings.
Choose which work details appear in the Stats section of the embed. Uncheck a field to hide it:
- Words: Total word count.
- Chapters: Published chapter count and total chapter count.
- Language: The work’s language.
- Published: When the work was first posted.
- Updated: When the work was last updated.
- Status: Whether the work is complete or in progress.
- Rating: The AO3 content rating, such as Mature or Explicit.
- Warnings: The work’s Archive Warnings, if any.
- Category: The relationship category, such as F/M, M/M, or Gen.
Choose which tag groups appear in the embed. Uncheck a group to hide it:
- Fandoms: Fandoms the work belongs to.
- Relationships: Tagged relationships.
- Characters: Tagged characters featured in the work.
- Additional Tags: Freeform tags added by the author.
Set a maximum length for Fandoms, Relationships, Characters, and
Additional Tags separately. Each limit can be from 1 to 1,024 characters.
Text over the limit is shortened with an ellipsis (...). The Characters
and Additional Tags length fields are also available even though they are
not visible in the tags screenshot.
Summary
Section titled “Summary”The Summary option adds a Summary tab that describes the work. Uncheck it to
hide the summary. You can set the maximum summary length from 1 to 10,000
characters. Longer summaries are shortened with an ellipsis (...). The default
maximum is 3,000 characters.
Gallery
Section titled “Gallery”For AO3 works with images, Archivist can show the images in a separate, paginated gallery alongside the main embed.
- Show image gallery: Turn the gallery on or off.
- NSFW warning for Mature works: Add a warning-only first page before the images for Mature-rated works. Users can click through to view the gallery.
- NSFW warning for Explicit works: Add a warning-only first page before the images for Explicit-rated works. Users can click through to view the gallery.
Both warning options are enabled by default.
Inactivity
Section titled “Inactivity”After five minutes without clicks, a work embed or gallery is considered inactive. Choose what Archivist does after this period:
- Reset gallery to page 1 after inactivity: Return the image gallery to its first page. This option is enabled by default.
- Default tab after 5 min inactivity: Choose which tab the main embed shows after five minutes: Stats, Tags, Summary, or Don’t reset.
