Series Embed Settings

Use the Series page in Archivist’s /settings command to control which details appear in Archive of Our Own (AO3) series embeds in your Discord server. You need the Discord Manage Server permission to change these settings.

Open a series settings form

On the Series page, choose Fields or Inactivity to open that section’s form. Update the options, then select Submit to save your changes or Cancel to close the form without submitting. Select Reset Series to defaults to restore the Series settings.

Series fields

Choose which details appear in the series embed. Uncheck a field to hide it:

• Authors: Who wrote the series.
• Complete: Whether the series is finished.
• Works: The number of works in the series.
• Total Word Count: The combined word count of all works in the series.
• Bookmarks: The total number of bookmarks for the series.
• Started: When the series was created.
• Updated: When the series was last updated.
• Notes: Add a Notes tab with the series author’s notes.
• Description: Add a Description tab with the series description.

Long notes and descriptions are split across pages. You can set a separate maximum length for Notes and Description, from 1 to 10,000 characters. Text over the limit is shortened with an ellipsis (...). Each field defaults to 3,000 characters.

Inactivity

After five minutes without clicks, the series embed is considered inactive. Choose which tab the embed returns to:

• Default tab after 5 min inactivity: Choose which tab the main embed shows after five minutes: Stats, Notes, Description, or Don’t reset.

The inactivity form also includes a separate setting for the /list command:

• Reset to page 1 after inactivity: When enabled, the original /list message returns to its first page after five minutes without clicks. This setting is enabled by default.
